Description
This implementation objective is aimed at the study, design, implementation and testing of aninnovative odometry system intended to equip the PODs of a state-of-the-art transport system based on Hyperloop technology.
The aim is to study innovative solutions suitable for applications at speeds of around 1,000 km/h and which will make it possible to increase the frequency of vehicle passage on the same line.
The on-board odometry system is responsible for calculating the odometric information of the rolling stock (distance travelled, speed, acceleration, etc.) and their transmission to the other on-board subsystems.
The localisation system distributes the synchronisation signals and the localisation data:
– Encoder, representing a pulse source (typically
installed at the bushing of a neutral axis)
– Interfacing box, representing an odometer interface
reference.
– Acquisition/Processing PC including an Odometer Card,
placed in the same cabinet containing the Interfacing Box.
– Differential GPS unit
– Singularity Keypad with proprietary software available for the
marking of singularities located along the line.
